Barn Preparations Part 2

With holiday and weather delays, progress on the barn slowed down a little. But I am happy to say that we finished just in time for chicks to arrive last week! Here is everything we had to finish over the last few months, and stay tuned for details on our first week with the chicks! After taking out all wiring, insulation went in, and boy did it make a huge difference!

Next was rewiring and putting up steel for the interior… rain, snow, or shine!

Painting/sealing the floor of the freezer room.

Moving the freezers in!

This felt like a real milestone because we spent a lot of time making sure this room is sealed and sanitary to store that pasture raised goodness!

And finally… cleaning, disinfecting and getting the brooder prepped!

A couple of days later, the chicks arrived!
