A Lesson in Going with the Flow
I am not a natural “go with the flow” person, and I always have back-up plans for my back-up plans. Having goals and planning ahead is necessary in order to make progress, but the element that I (and I think many others) struggle with is taking action. When our hypothetical dreams become real life, that leaves us vulnerable to real life curveballs.
I think it’s important to have opportunities to prove to yourself that change is okay and you are capable of weathering the uncertainty. I knew when I started this farm that I would be challenged to trust the process and believe in myself. This past week I was able to make adjustments to my grand plan, in the face of an anxiety-inducing obstacle, and lean on others for help. Wouldn’t you know it, I actually like the way that plan changed better than the original.
I know there will be many more changes to come, and I can’t wait to keep growing and bring you all along for the ride! I remain committed to making this farm a success and I am grateful to have the opportunity to make a difference in my community. Stay tuned next week to catch all the upcoming preparations for the spring growing season!
